The first demonstration held under tl.e auspices of the Union Districts Fire Brigades Association commenced on Saturday and continued to-day, in drv but windy weather. Two hunred firemen competed. Results: Coil Coupling Championship (one man).—Wanganui 58 4-osccs.) 1, Napier (58 45secs)) 2, Dannevirke (59 2-ssecs.) 3. Wanganui won in running off the tie. Hose Hydrant Union (three men).— Dannovirke (33 4-ssecs.) 1, Napier Railway (36 2-ssecs.) 2, Napier City (37isecs.) 3. Coupling (two men).—Napier B (34 2-5 secs.) 1, Wanganui (34 4-ssecs.) 2, Napier A (37sccs.) 3. In tho run-off Napier won. Hose Hydrant Union (five men).—Dannevirko (34 1-5) 1, Wanganui (35 3-5) 2, Spit (37 4-5) 3. Rescue (two men).—Napier (23secs.) 1, Wanganui B (25 l-ssecs.) 2, Wanganui A (27 l-osecs.) 3. Hose Reel, flat, ladder (five men).— Wanganui (59 I-ssec.) 1, Napier (59 3-5 secs.) 2, Dannevirke (60 secs) 3. Ladder Race (one man). —Napier (7 1-5 secs) 1, Wanganui (7 4-ssecs) 2, Dannevirke (Bsecs) 3. Wanganui won tho grand aggregate with 53 points, Dannevirke 47, Napier City 45. The visiting firemen were entertained at a social to-night.
