MINISTER’S REPLY TO OBJECTORS (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Aprli 9. Eeplying to a deputation from the Arbitration and Peace Association protesting against the compulsory clauses of the Defence Act, the Hon. A. Myers stated that, while holding in respect the conscientious opinions of those opposed to the military training, it was duty to see the law carried out. Although the Government regretted being compelled to allow the civil law to take its course when the resisters failed to register (which involved penalties) the Government had no option but to see the law vindicated. Those who failed to register were thereby disfranchised and forfeited their right to Government employment. ; ,
