PERSONAL.
Dr. Hatherly will act as Medical Superintendent of the Wanganui Hospital during Dr. Reid's absence on leave. Mr R. W. Smith, M.P. for Rangitikei, is at present in town. Mr W. T. Jennings, M.P. for Taumaranui, was iu town on Saturday. Mr A. 0. Bigncll left to-day for the work in connection with various of the Spiral Pipe Company’s contracts. Wo regret to learn of the death, yesterday, at the ago of 77, of Mr Charles William Cowper,* of Kukata, near Makirikiri. Mr Cowpcr, who leaves an adult family of four sons and five daughters, was one of our oldest and most esteemed settlors, and sincere regret will be felt at his death.
