BOXING.

WANGANUI AMATEUR TOURNAMENT. In connection with the forthcoming tournament to bo hold in the Opera House on or about the 17th hist., those interested are reminded that entries close to-night with Mr. L. J. Atkinson, the secretary, to-night. In connection with this tournament Dick Ellis is being kept very busy at his school of instruction here preparing pupils for the various contests. Ellis lias also some very promising men (all classes) in training at Kai Iwi, Waitotara, and Wavorloy. He visits Waitotara to-night, to put several likely aspirants through._ He will also give exhibitions of scientific boxing with a couple of wellknown amateurs.
