LEVIN NOTES.
(Per United Press Association.) LEVIN, July n. A phenomenal rainfall was experienced at Levin about 1 a.m. to-day. Evidently a watcr-spont burst over the (own. Jilocka of land, aggregating some 3000 acres, situated seven or eight miles east of Levin, were inspected yesterday by Mr Ritchie, Land Purchase Commissioner. It i« understood lie will report favourably regarding the suitableness of the laud for special settlements. A young man named John Nieol, a. passer-by, died near Levin yesterday. At the inquest a verdict was 'returned that death was due to pnoumoma, on constitutional weakness. "
