THE RIVERINA DISTRICT.

VICTORIA'S CLAIMS Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright. Received July 5 9.15 a.m. SYDNEY. July 5. Victoria’s claim to the Rivorina is a revival of an old matter. TV feeling in political circles hero is that Victoria ha? small chance of succeeding. The letter making (he claim suggests that the true construction of the Imperial statute fixing the boundary of the two States should be definitely settled, and invites the attention of the New South Wales Government to the manner in which this can best be done. MELBOURNE. July 3. The Government was inspired, in making the claim to the Riverina, by the victory which it obtained over South Australia in the recent boundary dispute relating to a stretch of territory on the "astern-boundary. The matter is not taken very seriously here. In some quarters it is looked upon as a revival of an old story in view of the obscure electoral issues at,, the forthcoming elections.
