New' York papers publish advertisements announcing that the Crystal Palace in London is for sale.
Tho announcement is qualified with the statement that it is earnestly hoped that someone may come forward and save the historic building for tho British people. The total value of the property \i ith the surrounding land is estimated at £1.500,000,
Practically ever since it was built, GO years ago, the Crystal Palace has been a “while elephant.” Many efforts have been made to boom the leviathan glass building at Sydenham into some sort of a success. but ill-luck lias followed it right, through. Only a little while ago the last company that, was looking after the c.estiuiea of the Palace—a« it is familiarly known to Londoners—went into liquidation.
