HAYWARD’S PICTURES
COMPLETE CHANGE TO-NIGHT.
This evening a complete change of pro gramme will be made, when the patrons of the above popular pictures are promised a pictorial treat. In addition to comedy and dramatic films some films of high edticational value are included in the bill of fate, showing “Peach Growing in Canada,” with over 40,000 trees, which yield 1,000,000 baskets of peaches annually. “Through the Tyrol” is another film which shows the beautiful Rether Peak 15,T00 feet high, Runkclsteiii Castle, a 13th century pile, and gloriously tinted sunset views. The picture of the Panama Canal, showing its administration, past and present, will also bo included in to-uight’o programme. This picture drew crowded houses in Christchurch for two weeks, and proved one of the most instructive films yet seen ou the biograph. Tho wonderful methods adopted by the engineers in this groat work, fairly opened one’s eyes; when hundreds of tons of rock are scooped out hy the latest modern machinery, and tho great steam ploughs, which shift tons of earth more like a great wave, than anything else, show what a marvellous piece of work has been done in constructing this groat canal now nearing completion, which in due in about two years time. To-night tho well-known Pathc Gazette will show some beautiful coloured robes which should dolight the lidies. Tho well-known play ‘David Garrick,” will bo presented per medium of tbe Biograph, and is presented hy the Essany Company. Patrons are ro minded that seats may always be reserved at H. I. Jones and Sons’, Ltd.
FULLERS’ PICTURES TO-NIGHT. Fullers’ Pictures will show again in the Opera House to-night, when a new programme, equal to the linn’s very best standard, will be screened. Amid a -splendid variety of subjects, scenic, tlr.vmtie, and comic, there will be one of moiv time usual interest to New Zealander:-, vi,;., ■‘Coronation Day in Wellington, ” ii will show all the main features nt the festivities, on the occasion of the crowning of King George, by which the capital of the Dominion celebrated t hat auspicious event. Incidental music will, as usual, lie rendered by O’Hara's Symphony Orchestra, and it issa fe to predict that the popular firm will be rewarded by the usual hig attendance. ROLLER SKATING. There was a good attendance at the Druids’ Hall on Saturday cvenhg last. The Hour, though crowded, was well managed ny Mr Gonard, the manager. On Thurstay evening next a grand fanev dress mask carnival will be held in the Drill Hall. Miss Ata Milingtou, a pupil of the manager. will, in company with her teacher, given an exhibition in the art of graceful fancy skating. The rink is open daily :ind evenings. The monthly meeting of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce will be held at 7.30 o’clock this evening at the Borough Chambers.
