LONDON, Juno 28. Messages from Ilodeidah, an Arabian seaport on the Bed .Sea, and 100 miles N.N.W. of Mocha, state that there has been a big uprising in tho Yemen district.

A mob of armed rebels cut up Mohamed All. Pasha's column close to Ghcczan, 100 miles north of Ilodeidah. Over. 100 Turks were killed, and ali Pasha is missing. At such close quarters was the fighting conducted that 500 of tho Turkish refugees who were wounded were covered with dagger cuts. The Turkish gunboat Sntehbe intended to shell the Arabs, hut. instead, shelled Gheezan, killing and wounding several hundred soldiers. ' Later on, however, tho ship's crew captured four big guns, two Maxim guns, )and 2000 rifles, together with a lot of ammunition. The rebels eventually decamped into the country. A little to tho north of Gheezan is the

vilayet Assyr, where Arab nomads recently captured a garrison relief force of 30TO officers and men that was on its wav from Mecca to the vilavet.
