Starting well,- Golden Cairn led out,, followed by Rufus, Lady Eskcr, and Aquobucse. Leaving the straight Bribery and Hmrterston went to the front. Golden Cairn being in attendance. Passing the stand, the Reckoning assumed- command, Arqnebncse being closest, with Bribery running last. When half a mile was to go, Arqnebneso bold the lead, tbe Reckoning and Sparkle a couple of lengths away. Arqnebncse showed the way into the straight, the nearest being Sparkle and Hnuterston. Then Sparkle made a determined effort to overtake the loader, but Arqnebncse gave no signs of tiring and won comfortably by four lengths, Sparkle heating Obi by six lengths for second place.
