INQUEST.

(Per United Press Association.) MASTERTON, March 31. At the inquest on Albert Ernest Nicolson, who was killed on Maungaraki Hill last night, the evidence showed that deceased and a,man named Walter Douglas were driving to Tcwharau. They had a bottle of whiskey with them, which wa: more than half consumed. A man who had been drinking with them said they seemed able to look after themselves. Tiro brake went over an embankment, deceased’s neck being broken. The other escaped with severe bruises. The inquest was adjourned.
