CONCILIATION AWARD. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 31. The Wanganui painters’ and decorators’ award, based upon the agreement made by the Conciliation Council, has been filed. It provides-a minimum wage of Is 3d pc.hour, with the right on the part of an employer to employ one shop hand for jobbing at a weekly wage of £2 2s. Suburban work will entitle an employee to as extra 3d -per day,'and in the case of country work Is per day. Piece-work is prohibited. If any employee engages to work for any master painter who is not a member of the Wanganui Master Painters’ Union, he shall notify the.-secretary within three days, and- shall not continue to work for the employer if the latter neglects, within one week, to join the Master Painters’ Union.
