EXCITING EXPERIENCES. Frees Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright. SYDNEY, March 31. The Mahcno encountered a heavy southwest gale, which was at its height at midnight on Thursday. She was struck by a tremendous sea, which damaged the deck fittings, smashed a dozen cabin windows, and flooded the smoking-room, social hall, and alley-way. The passengers were kneedeep in water. A family of three—a man, woman, and child—were rather severely cut by the: falling glass. Received April 1, 9.15 a.m. SYDNEY, April 1. , Only six of the Maheno’s cabin windows; were smashed. The wave was unexpected. It broke high over the promenade deck, and crashed down with great : force. The experience was an exciting one while it lasted.
