It appears that Earlo was employed laying, telegraph cables alongside - the read, and just as the trainwas : approaching at a. rapid speed r die; ishddeiily pickedtip his shovel and walked across the line, apparently not having hoard the tram.- The motorman palled up with the greatest possible promptitude, but was nnablo to stop the tram-car; in, time, the fender crashinginto Earlo and carrying him dome yards. He was picked up underneath the forepart of the car somewhat badly cut about the face. He was able to got up off the ground after a few minutes, and .wanted to walk homo, evidently having been dazed by the, shock. Ho was conveyed- to the Hospital in the cur, and upon oxainin'atic-rt it was-found that no holies were broken. .
