FOX TERRIER ASSOCIATION.

(Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, April 21. A meeting of the farmers interested, in fox-terriers was held to-night, when it was decided to form a South Island FoxTerrier Club. It was explained that the club would not be antagonistic to the New Zealand Fox Terrier Association, but it was hoped its establishment would bring fox-terriers into more prominence. Sir J. G. Ward, Sir G. McLean, and Sir G. Clifford were elected patrons, Mr. E. Webster president, and F. Rogen (Dunedin), G. Moffett (Invercargill), and \\ r . Perry (Christchurch), vice-presidents. The. chairman'announced that Mr. Thomson had donated a challenge shield valued at 20gs., and Mr Kerr a cup valued at 3gs., for competition. The shield. Mr Kerr’s cup will be awarded by dogs or bitches over 12 months old, wire or smooth-haired, and a gold medal valued at 2gs. will be, offered yearly to the holder when relinquishing the shield. Mr Kerr’s cup will bo awarded for the best puppy under 12 months, smooth or wirehaired. The shield will be competed for at Dunedin this year, and afterwards at Christchurch and Invercargill, in due course.
