ARRANGEMENTS FOR NEW ZEA* LAND VISIT. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 36. The Defence Forces of the Wellington District are to be mobilised at Johnsonville for inspection by Lord Kitchener, subject to necessary permission being ob tained. The site chosen ia near the railway station, and convenient for troops arriving and leaving. It is expected that about 4000 men. will be under canvas. This number includes a contingent of 800 from the West Coast and Nelson, who mads special application for permission to take part in the manoeuvres. They will be brought to. Wellington by one of the Gov eminent steamers. Owing to the distance from the mobijiaation centre, it is still uncertain whether the Poverty Bav and Wairoa men will be able to attend tie camp. In the case of the former the cost of conveying the train to Johnsonviße would be about £Wo —an expenditure not yet authorised.' The Wairoa men would have a rough ride of 60 miles before they could reach the railway. The camp will be on the same lines as to mobilisation, allowance, etc,, as the usual Easter Tncampment, the place of which it will take this year.
The necessary- train arrangement# will be announced atan eariv date. Field service uniforms only are to be brought to camp, and care to be taken to have equipments complete in every particular. Applications (pr-sacb articles as haversacks, waterbodies, and straps to be made by officers , in sufficient time to ensure every man being provided.
