Tire Seine is swollen to double its usual width, and has risen another 18 inches. Hundreds of thousands of Parisians are thronging the quays watching the carcases of cattle and horses, broken pontoons, boats, and wash-houses in the swirling torrent. . • Preparations are being made to dynamite the Pont de I’Alma. The water has nearly reached the keystone.

One thousand seven hundred are homeless at Autenil. The rest of the inhabitants are remaining in their houses, and are being fed per medium of boats. Armed police patrol the district'in boats to prevent the Apaches, who pretend to bo engaged in life-saving, from looting deserted residences.

There are 14 feet of water at Alfort, owing to the rise in the Marne.

Three thousand have now been rescued, but 10,000 are still in danger. The floods have closed the Renault motor car works at Billanscourt, and 2500 arc workless. ■

RAILWAY TRAFFIC SUSPENDED. Cities Flooded. Inhabitants Abandoning Dwellings. PARIS, January 26. Traffic on the Paris-Orleans Railway has been suspended. Charenton is flooded, and tile inhabitants at Macon are abandoning their dwellings.
