AMUSEMENTS, MEETINGS, ETC.

HARMONIOUS HUXHAMS. There was a good attendance of the public last evening in the Opera House, when the above bright and c.cvcr combination of artistes reappeared after an absence of nine months. That it was remembered was evidenced by the hearty aplause which greeted the trio on its appearance for the opening number. The company is now composed of seven members altogether. Miss Eva Scott is one of the additions and she certainlyshowed by her performance in singing and dancing- last evening-, that she is a worthy addition to the company. The audience were loth to let her go. "The Three Musketeers" proved a capital musical sketch, quite a long way better than the usual vaudeville stuff, for the Huxham's sing- in part and do not shout in unison. Miss Edith Maitland sang in caoital voice and style the song "Climb, Boys, Climb." This song was beautifully ijlustrated by a number of slides. This young lady is the possessor of a, voice of great sweetness and clearness, truly of operatic tone. The farcical sketch, which concluded the entertainment produced roars of laughter from the audience. This was not all the entertainment, for some admirable pictures were screened. "Peeps, through Nature's Realm" proved to be a grand nature study. In this picture a stream was shown, a beautiful picture truly, but the audience were then taken below the surface and shown the inhabitant? there. The seasonable picture proved to be "The Kind's Derby," which showed his Majesty's horse winning- the same. The company p-ive an entire chang-e of programme to-nig-ht. There should be a really g-ood attendance of the public. ROWING CLUBS' BAZAAR. The Rowin^ Clubs' Bazaar was continued last evening-, when there was another splendid attendance, excellent business resulting. The hidden treasure was found by Mrs. D. Seaward. The result of the voting for the voting for the poster competition will be announced on Saturday evening. The counting of the votes will be conducted to-night in the presence of the committee and representatives of the -ress. To-night, the first item of the evening's entertainment, the Floradora chorus, will commence at 7.50 p.m. The presentation of a whip will be made lq the winning jockey in the Wanganui Guineas (Mr. C. Jenkins). •LONDON BIOSCOPE COMPANY. — - (. TO-MORROW'S MATINEE. A good entertainment at matinee prices is promised by the London Bioscope Company to-morrow, when a complete chanpe of programme is promised: The pictures are a particularly fine lot and those who have not already seen previous programmes may rest assured that the entertainment is well worth a visit.
