— ♦ M. BARNETT'S APPEAL UPHELD. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 24. Mr Justice Sim delivered judgment thi's morning in a case in which M. Barnett, proprietor of the journal "Daylight," appealed against a decision given by Mr Haselden, S.M., fining him (Barnett) .£2O for the publication of betting odds on the .New Zealand Cup. The appeal was upheld with costs.
