GOVERNMENT ACCIDENT INSURANCE DEPARTMENT.

WELLINGTON, June 11.

The revenue account of the accident branch of the Government Insurance Department was laid before Parliament today. It shows that the premiums paid during the year ended 31st December last totalled .£20,897, and the claims paid amounted to .£11,926. Salaries cost .£2901, and the expenses of management are put down at £iV&. The amount of the accident funds at the end of the year was .£9598. Tbe assets include mortgages on property (j>40,080) and rash in hand and on current account .£IOB2.
