WELLINGTON, June 10,

An abstract of the liabilities of the Dominion outstanding on March 31st last received from the Auditor-General was presented to the House this afternoon by Mr Speaker. The return shows liabilities totalling no less a 6iim than .£1,405,800, the principal items being as follows: — Public Works Fund £1,054,427, Consolidated Fund J>287,132, railway improvements account £22,094, Wellington-Hutt "railway and road improvements account =E19,638, Public Trustees' account JJ7756, loans to local bodies account .£5978, lauds for settlement account J32544, deposits national endowment account .£1856, Government insurance account .£1213.
