MELBOURNE, April 21.
At the half-yearly meeting of the Congregational Union, reference was made to the proposed Union of the Churches.
Dr Bevan thought they should take a straightforward course and either say they were going into the subject, or drop it. The president said the Union's committee had decided not to meet until it received the reports of the Lambeth Conference.
Dr Bevan replied that the conference had met, and they did not know where they were. Meanwhile, some sort of negotiations were going on between the Anglicans and the Presbyterians. The Anglicans' demand for an historic episcopate was unhistorical, un-Christian, illogical, and perfectly impossible. It was merely an ecclesiastical dodge to secure Anglican supremacy. • It was agreed that the committee should submit a motion at the October meeting.
Chamberlain's Tablets have proved remarkably successful in curing stomach troubles, biliousness and constipation. One man was cured of a bad stomach trouble by these tablets after having spent many pounds for medicines and treatment, without any permanent benefit. In cases of constipation they are mild and gentle in their action, and they leave the bowels in a natural and healthy condition. They are easy to take and pleasant in effect. Try them.' You will find them far superior to pills. For sale by all chemists and storekeepers.
