WANGANUI LITERARY AND DEBATING SOCIETIES' UNION.

To-morrow night the first scries of debates under the auspices of the Union will eventuate, when Christ Church Club meet Baptist* in the Christ Church Schodrfoom. Tlie judge will be Mr G. W. McCaul. Socialists meet T.Y.M.I. B in the T.Y. M.I. Rooms. The judge will be Mr. G. Currie. The subject to be discussed is "That we should Abolish Trial by Jury." Owing to the Druids not being able to enter a team no debate will take place in St. Paul's Hall. We are asked to extend an invitation to the general public to attend these debates, and encourage the Union in its efforts. There is no charge for admission, but a collection is taken \ip at all debates to defray expenses.
