YORKSHIRE SOCIETY OF WANGANUI.

The annual general meeting of members of the above society was held last evening in Hod&on'9 rooms. Mr C. W. Naylor (president) occupied the chair, and addressed a fair attendance of members, after which the treasurer submitted the balance sheet, which was adopted, and which showed a credit balance.

The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: — President, Mr C. W. Naylor (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs A. Varney and C. Pearce; secretary and treasurer, Mr H. Smith (re-elected); committee, all officers (ex officio), together with Messrs E. Crane, A. E. Eichards, G. H. Smith, J. Hepworth, P. S. Taylor (all re-elected), and B. C. Walker.

Messrs E. Crane, C. Pearce, and H. Smith were appointed an entertainment committee, and it was decided to hold social evenings on the second "Wednesday in each month.

A hearty vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting.
