After the American fleet left Albany, Premier Deakin cabled President Roosevelt expressing gratification and thanks for the visit ot the splendid fleet. He added: "We would greatly appreciate another opportunity of honouring your country, this time in your person. We hope that on your projected tour next year we may welcome the visit of Theodore Roosevelt, the individual, after you have relinquished the heavy burden and high responsibilities of your office." NEW YORK, October 2. President Roosevelt, thanking Mr Howard', Councillor to the Embassy, intimated, that it would be impossible to make the suggested visit to Australia.
