ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
The season was brought to a close n Saturday last. A scratch team, from town visited Eastbrook and & game was placed t'lere in connection with the Dominion Day celebrations. The '- iloiirbajait.es pr<Sve«l victorious by ii goals to nil. The season has been wonderfully sumvuf ul, and the game promises well for the future. A i'ai* combination has been established and good results have been achieved.
The Wanganui Club, whith was first toured, went through the season without losing -a match, though some of the games were well contested, it is also pleasing to note that though six games with teams irom other towns were played the local men were never beaen. On June 3rd and September 24th rep. matches were played. Ifle former between Wanganui and 'i-ra^-afci. and the .latter between Wanganui and Wellington. Other games wcie against Palmereton, at Palmereton, on July 4th, and also against Palmerston hero on July 18th. Against Auroa here on June 27th, and against Taihape, at Marton, on September lutii.
Results, of rep. games. — June 3—Wanganui 2 v Taranaki 1; June 27 — Wanganui 4 v Auroa 0; July 4 — Wanganui 0 v Palmerston 0; July 18— Wanganui 2 v Palmeraton 1; September 19 — Wanguniit s / Taihape 1; September 24 — Wanganui 3 v Wellington 1. Totals — Wanganui 16 goals, against 4.
