BOY'S NARROW ESCAPE.
Sheet of Iron Cuts through a Wall
During a terrific storm at Milthorpe (New South Wales), which unroofed two houses ana partially unroofed several others, a lad named Higgins, son\of Mr T. Higgins, J.P., had an exciting experience. The lad was in bed, when a sheet of galvanised iron that was blown from an outhouse about 80 yards distant struck the wall of the room he was sleeping in. The sheet of iron came with such force that it cut its way through the galvanised iron wall, a 3in. by lin. pine batten, and the lining boards, and hit against the head of the bed. About Ift of the sheet of iron was protruding inside of the room when Mr Higgins, senr., went to investigate.
After the storm the people were busy collecting the iron, etc., that was blown from the roofs. Some of it was found 300 yards distant.
