Yesterday afternoon the match between Burgess and Laird (skip) and Taylor and Glasgow (skip), to decide the ownership of the TaAvse trophies, was played. Glasgow got away with a lead of six, but Laird gradually drew level, and the game throughout was hotly contested. At the 19th head the score was 20 all, but when the. last bowl of the final head had been played honours rested with Laird by the margin of one point, the score being 22 against 21.

The Dominion bowling team, which has just left the Bluff for Australia, will play n.atches as per the following amended tour: — Play Hobart on Thursday, 2nd April: arrive Melbourne on the 4th, and play the Victoria and Armadale Clubs on Monday, the 6th; play Victoria State on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the 7th, B>,h, and 9th; meet South Melbourne on the 10th, and leave the same night for Ballarat to play there on the 11th, and in me evening go on to Adelaide; play in Adelaide on the 13th and ]4lh, and then return to Melbourne, and leave for Sydney on the night of the 15th. The time spent in New South Wales will extend over a fortnight, and besides the Singles Championship of Australia, there will be a test match beI\veen Australia (Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, and New South Wales) and New Zealand. The team, which conbists of thirty players, will return by way of Auckland.

Tho personnell of the team is ad follows: — Messrs Gibson (Patea), Thompson (Wellington), R. S. Bishop, A. V. Bishop, Manning, and Bunting (Christchurch), Gee, Maynard, and Neave (Canterbury Club), Chegwin (Sydenham), Johnston and fitubberfield (St. Albans), D. Thomas (Ashburton), Goldstone and Coltman (Waimate), Waddell (Oamaru), Allnutt (Kaituna), Bentley (Dunedin), Scoular (Roslyn), Bastings j(Port Chalmers), Mac Gibbon and a. Marton (Gore), Ham, W. Martin, E. Smith, Findlay, Wallace, G. Smyth, C. J. Broad, and R. Galbraith (Invercargill). The team will be strengthened at Sydney by the inclusion of Messrs J. C. Maddison and Brown (Christchurch), Mcllwrick (Dunedin), Ledger and Hon. J. A. Millar (Wellington), and Rev. Mr. Haywod (Napier). Mr. Albert Cohen (of the Evening Star, Dunedin) accompanies the team as Press representative.

Speaking of the constitution of the team the Southland Newß says it might be remarked that Goldstone performed exceptionally well at the recent Dunedin tournament, winning the singles, being second in the rinks and third in the pairs, a rare achievement. A. V. Bishop ia recognised throughout New Zealand as 0110 of the finest bowlers in the Dominion, and Ailnut has been a prize-winner in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. There aro four members of the team who were with the "All Whites" in Australia, these being Thomas, Wadell, Bastings and Manning. The team are assiduously practising a war-cry written by Mr. C. R. Parata, of Duuedin, and the vigor with which it is sung — particularly the concluding line, which translated means, "And to smite tho Kangaroo." — is likely to cause consternation among tho Australians, even should tho Dominionites fail to bring back the "ashes."

In regard to the single-handed championship of Australasia, which will be played during Easter week, fully threequarters of the team have entered. The prize is an open order for ,£3O. Mr Ham, who organised the team, states that the performance of the team against Otago augured well for the success of tho tour, as the New Zealand representatives were without combination, which they will gain with practice. Mr Ham is manager.
