The Attitude of Native Ohlefs
(Per Fnited Press Association). WELLINGTON, November 12. Yesterday afternoon the Native Minister received a deputation of Maori chiefs regarding the Maori Land Bill. The Hon Carrol expressed the opinon that th« Bill was directed to secure legislation in the best interests of natives. At a meeting of chiefs to-day it was decided to vigorously oppose any attempt to pass the Bill into law before the Maori race had time to full consider it. The latest addition to the Telephone Exhange i« No.' 555, Saphir, Palmer and Co., land and insurance agents, Wicksteed Place. To-day is the anniversary of the discovery of New Zealand by Tasman, in 1462. _____
