The energetic ladu-o' committee of the Wanganui Poultry Association instituted a somewhat novel form oi public entertainment last evening to i;usc funds ior the prizes to be given in the home industry section ot the nhow to be held shortly. The entei \c imnent took the lorm ot a progressive endue party, which was .ield in the F.B.C. Hall. '1 here was a large attendance, and a most enjoyable time was spent. The lucky w inners of prizes were Miss F. Turner fan occasional table presented by Messrs Wainwright and Lewis), Mrs W. Lyall (oil painting- presented liy Mrs A. Moon*, Mr AY ikon curd and letter i ii-c (given by that society), aud Mr Fraser (o! nameutod cake donated by Mr W. 8. Di'stin). At the conclusion of the tournament a hat dressing 'competition for gentlemen was held, in which great interest centred. \n abundance ot tasty rclreshments were pro\ idod during the evening, and altogfher the junction was a great success.
