Press Association.— Telegraph.— Copyright. Received October 22, 8.18 a.m. . NEW YOUK, October 20. Reports from Havana fatate that the recent cyclone was the worst on record. Buildings were shaken aa if by earthquake. Many houses in the poorer quarter collapsed. Ninety-four natives and sixteen foreign residents were killed. The fatalities would have been greater but for timely warning which the people hnd of the approach of the storm. This enabled them to gain shelter. Shipping in Havana harbour suffered severely, no fewer than 35 lighters being destroyed. The American cruiser Brooklyn was stranded, but was refloated somewhat damaged. Extent ive damage was done to the crops at Pcnadelrio.
