MBSSBS. JOHNSTON AND CO.'S (LTD.) REPORT. We offered a good catalogue of hides and skins. Prices for skins were on a par with last rates. There was a keen demand for hides at advanced prices. The prices for good conditioned ox and cow hides ranged from sfd to 6fd per 1b on nett weights. Wool. — Only oddments offered. Crutchings, good 6J4, inferior 5Jd to 6J, dead wool 7jd, pieces s£d. Skins. — Good medium crossbred BJd to BJd, inferior 7Jd to 7Jd, dead and broken 6Jd to 7}d, butchers' green skin* 5e 3d to 8s 6d. Hides.— Ox, heavy 34s 6d, medium 27b 6d to 29s 6d, light 14s 3d to 265, cut and elippy 10s 9d to 2Ce 6d; cows, medium 24s 6d to 265. light 16s to 20s 6d, cut and slippy 14s 6d to 20s 6d. T»llow.— Caska £23 5e to £23 10s, tins 17s 6d to 19s 6d. Next sale is to take place on the 17th October, 1906.
