LEVIN AND CO.'S REPORT. Messrs. Levin and Co., in conjunction with Messrs. Freeman R. Jackson and Co., report: — We held our monthly sale as uaual yesterday, offering 12 bales and 90 bags of wool, 2000 skins, 750 hides, 17 casks of tallow, besides tins and a quantity of rough fat, also hone hair and cow tails. There was a large attendance of buyers, competition was keen, and bidding was brisk. Prices for wool and skins were hardly up to last sale level, but for hides there was very keen competition, nd prices ruled on a high basis, everything being cleared at very full rates. Tallow. — There was strong demand, and price* further advanced, ac much aa 23s lOd being paid for one line in cask*.

We quote: — Wool. — Crossbred fleece 8d to 9d, crutchings (good) 6d to &$&, crutchings (medium) 5d to ssd, dead wool Bd. Skins.— Crossbred B*d to B*d, short wools 7d to Bd, dead hoggets 6^d to 7d, dead 6d to 6fd, butchers' green 6s to 7s lOd.

Hides. — Good ox 27s 6d to 30s, medium 26s to 26s 6d, light 21s to 235, cows (good) 22b to 255, cows (light) 15s 6d to 21s 6d, yearlings 6s 2d to 9s, calfskins 2s 9d to 4s 4d, slippy and cut hides were lower. Tallow.— Casks 22s 6d to 23s lOd, tins 18s Sd to 20b, rough fat 15s 3d. Horse hair, Is 9fd per lb. We had to hold over some 200 bales for the next sale owing to late arrival. There is considerable room for improventeat ob tbo part of our frieada in. tbe "get up" of the hides. A little more care and a sprinkling of salt as soon as they are taken off would be well repaid by the extra prices realised. Buyers are ready to pay good prices for a good hide, but if the condition is not there the price must suffer, and we would strongly urge our friends to give this matter their attention.
