Received September 21, 8.33 a.m. LONDON, September 20. A crowded Scotch express from King's Cross, instead of stopping at Grantham (the brakes apparently failing) wont slightly beyond, towards a curve, where the engine and the tender parted from the rest of the train and toppled over a steep embankment. The wrench caused several coaches to derail. They Btruck the coping of the bridge,' and followed the engine down tho embankment. Several became ablaze and burned furiously. Up to the time of telegraphing, ten had been extricated, including five dead' (two ladies and three gentlemen). Two others who were deal were seen among the wreckage.
The number of injured is unknown. Tho mail van superintendent is missing.
