HAWSE'S BAY CHAMPIONSHIP. (Per United Press Association). NAPIER, September 20. The Hawke's Bay Golf Championship Tournament was commenced on the Napier Golf Links to-day. The entries constitute a record for a provincial tournament. The weather was beautifully fine. The Hawke's Bay Golf Championship meeting was continued to-day. The following are the winners of the first round of the Championship: — Ladies' Championship — Mesdames Moore and Kurupo Tareha, Misses Scott Beatson, McLean, Todd, Jardine, and Bennett. Men's Championship. — V. E. Harm an, Kurupo Tareha, H. J. Sith, D. W. Strang, E. S. Pearce, G. Thorburn, F. L. Gordon, and J. Harold. The ladies' driving and approaching was won by Miss Bennett. Napier No. 1 team won the Williams Cup, and. C. D. and A. A. Kennedy tied for the men's stroke game. Three pairs tied in the ladies' foursball bogey match, and will play off. The weather is good.
