CAIRO, May 15. Tlie garrison at Alexandria paraded to impress and reassure the people. General satisfaction is felt at Cairo at the Porto' 9 surrender.
M. Constans, French Ambassador at Constantinople, made representations to the Grand Vizier on his own initiative in support of Britain, and then on behalf of Corregios told Tewfik Pasha to inform the Sultan that ho joined with Sir Nicholas O'Counor in protesting against the occupation of Tabali.
Herr Bribersten, the German Minister, followed M. Constans' example, the united action of the diplomats producing a great impression in Turkieh circles.
