Hotel "Sharks."
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — It is with astonishment, and regret ihat I read a report of the case relating to the Waverlcy Races and Mr McKeuzks of Waitotara. What i«ason his Worship had i'or referring to Mr McKenzio as "a shark" is not made very clear. Without knowing Iho details one cannot pretend to appreciate the merits of the case. My sympathy, as a rule, is not lavished upon hotolkecpers. But I believe in speaking a. good word for a man when I can. Permit me tn say that Mr McKenzio is on? of tho last publicans T should havethought of culling a shark. Several times \\]kmi employed in the Waitotara district. T have put up. at the Bailway Hotel. Upon each occasion I have been much impics^d with the cleanliness, attention, comfort, and orderliness I met with. Nowhere •clfiO' in Now Zealand have I found eciu.il value in beds and meals. — I am, etc., FREDK. R. FIELD. Bulls, November 29, 1905.
