NO-LICENSE.

Reply to Rev. Father Servajean

By the Rev. Mr Falrolough.

(Per United Press Association.)

BLENHEIM, November 30.

A crowded audience listened to-night to the reply made by the Rev. M. Fairclough, of Wellington, to a lecture delivered on the previous night on Prohibition lay tlt& Eev. Fatter Servajean. In €ho course of a defence of the No-license system, the lecturer dealt with Father Serva jean's evidence that No-license "was not entirely successful in . Aehburton. He produced telegrams received from seven ministers of religion in Ashburton in reply to an urgent wire inquiring whether Nolicense had benefited Ashburton. Five replies were unreservedly in the affirmative.

The Anglican minister telegraphed: "Commercially doubtful, morally and socially decidedly yes." Father O'Donnell telegraphed: "Decidedly not."

At the conclusion of- the address Father Servajean ascended the stag* and asked a number of questions, and the proceedings were entirely good-natured.
