Re Shop Signs.

TO THE EDITOC.

Si rj lam sure it is in the interests of the business people themselves to have Borne clearance made in regard to the signs — although, of course, a prof erly arranged system of signs would not be objectionable. Take the Avenue as at present under the verandahs; it is a mass of confusion, one sign obscuring the next one, and really a matter of difficulty to pick up the shop one wants to do. The whole space under the roofs of verandahs should be left clear and the signs put on the windows and window sills, and they then would be picked up much more easily by those seeking for them — besides the sanitary reasons for a clear view along under the verandahs. — I am, etc., CITIZEN.
