FREEMAN R. JACKSON AND CO.'S REPORT.'

At Mr Bretherton's clearing sale of dairy cows on the 31st ult. we had a large attendance. Bidding- was brisk, good cows selling exceptionally woll.

At Mr Mouton's clearing sale at Maxwelltown, on the Bth instant, we had a fair attendance. Bidding for early calvers was good, but backward ones were harder to quit. Sundries sold well.

At our Wanganui sale on the 9th instant we had a good entry. Bidding was brisk throughout, especially for haggets, which met with ready sale. Several pens of fat sheep came forward, rather many for trade requirements, resulting in a few lots being turned out unsold. No quotable change in cattle. Pigs sold freely. At Waverley. 11th instant, we had a fair yarding. Sheep sold well, especially wethers and hoggets. We quote : —

Mr lJiTcthcrton's sale. — Extra good cows £S to .£'B 17s 6d, good cows £7 to £7 15s, medium ditto £6 to £6 15s. others £\ 5s to £ 15s, springing heifers (small) £A 7s to £3 10s, bull £G. On account of other vendors, cows from .£5 to £o 10s.

At Mr Mouton's sale — Best cows to £7, medium .£4 10s to £o ss, others .£2 10s to £i. 2s 6d, springing Jieifers £2 10s to £,i 10s. 18-month to 2-year heifers £2 ss. weaners 15s, upstanding gelding (unbroken) Jt27 10s y , hacks £6 2s 6d to .£9 10s.

At Wanganui — Light fat cows 5s to .£4 11s, forward cows £3 6s, springing heifers £2 17s to £3 os, store cows £2 3s to £2 6s, springing cows £',] Is to £'d 10s, 18-month to 2-year steers .£2 18s 6d, weaners to yearlings} 38s, weaners 11s to 15s, good ewes in lamb 2ls 7d, others 12s; hoggets best 15s 7dto 16s 6d, others 14s lid to 15s 3d; 2 and' 4-tooth vrcthers, medium, 17s Id; fat wethers 21s to 225, fat and forward wethers 21s. Pigs: Best porkers 30s to 30.s 6d, good porkers 25s 6d to 28s, others 18s to 20s, sows 18s to 30s.

At Waverley. — Springing cows (close to oalving) £4- Is to ,£4 15s 6d, springing heifers £3 2s 6d. cows in calf .£2 7s, young cattle .£2, weaners (small) 10s, forward wethers 19s 6d to 19s 7d, others 18s 2d, Lincoln ewes in lamb 19s Bd, others 13s. hoggets (bc(st) 13s to 13s sd, others 13s.
