Falling Off in Revenue and Increase in Expenditure.

Press Association.— -Telegraph.— Copyr.ght Received January 30, 19.38 a.m. MELBOURNE, January 30. Sir George Turner estimated the falling off in the Federal revenue for the year at .£39,000. The first six months shows a fall of .£186,000. It is expected in the second half there will be a decrease of .£400,000. He estimates .the increased expenditure at .£418,000, whereas the first six months shows an increase of .£464,000, including .£130,000 for the naval agreement and .£90,000 election and sugar bounties. Leaving out the naval expenditure, he expects his estimate will not be largely exceeded.
