TO PREVENT CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 22. A deputation from the Christchurch Council of the Society' for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals waited on the Premier to-day, and asked for a Government "'subsidy for carrying on" the work.
