GOVERNMENT CAUCUS.
46 Mombera Present. Session" Probably Last. Till Christmas (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 19. . At the Government caucus this morning the official report states that 46 members . were present. Members were invited to cs- " press their opinions freely on the position ' and on the business which they thought should be proceeded with. The result was that- the opinion was expressed that the lands, , licencing, preferential trade, banking, ' dentistry, and .education" legislation shonld. have preference. The regulation of Local. Elections Amendment , Bill will be proceeded with as soon .aa the Financial' Debate ends. By this moans the report states' that the present friction will be re-moved;-and it will be impossible for anything "to* occur again like lliat" jchich now obtains at Newtiwn and Bruce. An Elccto"ral Act^Amcndmcnt 1 Bill, will also be proreeded with. It is . considered that .the House will have ti> sit till Christmas in order to, carry ,ont this programme, ami a short adjournment at the beginning ot November is favoured." -
