FIRE AT PAHIATUA.

(Per United Press Association.) PAHIATUA, March 10. There was a nsu-row escape ot a disastrous lire here last night, when an old wooden bakehouse adjoining the largest block of business houses in the town broke into flames at eleven oVJock. Strenuous efforts of the brigade and public saved the block, as by a miracle the {ire was limited to the old bakehouse. The cause of the fire is a mystery. Insurance xinknown. A married man named Campbell, during the progress of the fire, fell from the roof to the ground, and remained unconscious until 8 o'clock this morning. lie is very much bruised and shaken.
