INVERCABGILL, December 5. The Supreme Court was engaged hearing the action for £1000 damages fought by J. W. S. Nicol, auctioneer of Gore, against James dimming, a farmor. , Plaintiff alleges that defendant- maliciously preferred charges of larceny against him, which were subsequently withdrawn. Defendant alleges that Nicol represented that he was acting as agent for a. Dunedin n'rin of produce merchants, and so induced him to consign a quantity of chaff to v.laintiff, for which ho had not been paid. " NicoJ wont North on business and a warrant for his arrest was issued iv his absence. The case is proceeding. ' • ' *
