Messrs Read Bros.' list of "specials" for Saturday's sale appears in this issue.

Special attention is drawn to Mr C. L. Duigan's property lists which appear elsewhere in this issue. Those desirous of spending their Christmas holidays in a most enjoyable' way could not do better than avail themselves of the very convenient timetable provided by the Castlecliff Railway Company, Ltd., and spend them at the seaside. On' Christmas Day the Sunday train service will be run, and on Boxing- Day- trains -will run between") Castlecliff and town almost every hour. The Red Flag- 'bus service will, as usual, convey passengers from and to the Fountain free of charge. ■ Besides the attraction of sea-bathing and picnicing,' the tide will be very suitable- for fishing. Whooping Cough. — My little son had an ; attack of whooping cough and was threatened with pneumonia; but for Chamberlain's Cough Remedy we would havo had a serious time of it.
