« (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, November 26. James Howlinßon has received the ap-. pointment of Superintendent Dredgemaster for the Ashanti Gold Fields* Corporation, at a salary of some £1500 per 'uarium. Tho Golden Beach Dredge return is 16/7. Tile Champion Company washed up 22/8 as the result of the -week's elevating.. At a meeting of the Island Creek Dredging Company's shareholders, it was resolved to go into liquidation. A telegram was received from Westport from Mr Gibbard, stating he was positive tho claim had been "salted," and suggested instituting proceedings. The .chairman said he thought thpre would •ba no dimculty in joining witlTothci i companies in taking proceedings, either by themselves or through the Share holders' Protection Association. It was made a recommendation to the liquidator to contribute something, in conjunction with other companies, -to prosecuting those suspected. 'A suggestion had been" made to -approach the Governments, but "this was v not adopted. The other two companies supposed to bo interested are the Fairdown and Wareatea, near Westport. • NELSON, November 26. 1 The Golden Blocks mine, near Colilingwood, obtained 184ozs lOdwts of gold from 97 tons of stone — twenty- ■ three days' crushing. The low level .tunnel has been driven 412 feet.
