CONCERT IN ST. PAUL'S HALL.

In. our -advertising columns will be found reference to the grand concert to be held in St. Paul's Hall on Thursday, June 27th, under, th"c» auspices of tho Advance Wanganui Lodge 1.0. G.T., tho members of which are sparing: no- ! effort to make' this 'year's annual concert a decided success. Many of the leading local artiste have consented to take part in tho concert, which trill include both vocal ' anil instrumental music. A number of young ladies will also give an exhibition of fancy marchingT whilst $p mo °f the members will give an amusing dialogue. As the tickets arc only one shilling to all parts, we hope to record a crowded house. >

' A. meeting is to.be held at Malone'a Albion Hotel -this evening at' eight o'clock for the purpose of forming- a boxing class for young men.

"The Druids' anniversary social and 'dance was held last evening in the Assembly Rooms, and passed- off .successfully. Fully 60 couples graced the floor, 'which was in excellent condition, for dancing. -The music was supplied by Mrs Lockett in" her usual artistic style. A number of songs and recitations were rendered by Bros:, Halligsn, Cuthbert*. son, A. McGonagle, and others. The refreshments were under the cartful supervision of Mr James Hodson. Bros. G. LawsOn and A. Walworth acted as Ms.C., and a thoroughly enjoyable evening resulted.

Thus the Auckland Observer: — 'Terry, the Human Frog," is pretty much the talk of the town. He was talked about before he came, and the result was a packed house at the City .Hall on Monday night to see him. He is one of the greatest wonders we have had here. The stage is transformed into a sort of leafy bower, with a stag-nant-looking pool at hand, and after the twittering of a bird in a tree cloße by is heard, Ferry, made up as a frojr and in orthodox attitude, bob* up with a croak. Then he hops about in a way that puts in the fsnado the teal frog, and goes through a "number of feats on sticks and things that are simply mar, vellous. He seems to be boneless, and more like a piece of mechanism than human muscle. The. ,Wanganui season commences at the Opera House on the I7tn.
