CHRISTCHURCH MATCHES. (Per United Press Association.) ' CHBISTCHURCH, May 19. In the championship football matches ' to-day, Christchnrch beat Kaiapoi- by 18 to nil, Merivale beat Albion' by 6<to 3, Albion beat Sydenham by 19 to 7. The point* now , stand — Merivale' 5, Christchurch 4, Linwood,- Kaiapoi and ■ Albion 2 each, Sydenham nil. % Footballers were greeted, with another howling gale for their .fixtures on Saturday, and a bitterly cold gale it - was, too, the consequence' was spectators were scarce- and decent football was an unknown quantity.
