ANXIETY FOR SAFETY OF GENERAL BULLER.
LONDON, January 16. There has been no official news from General Buller since the 11th, and profound anxiety is felt. Unofficial intelligence, conflicting with a censored message, states that General Warren, with 11,000 men, occupied a strong position on tho north bf.uk of tho Tugela. It is roported that the Boers have evacuated Colenso and their river entrenchments. It is surmised that thoy found theinsolvea unable to hold tho extensive lines, and ioared their retreat would bo cut off. It is also supposed that they are either rcconcentratmg in a now position or hope to crush General Bullor boforo General Warren can assist him.
